Introduction

I'm a belly dancer!!! and would love to meet others in the Arabic/world music community!

Do you speak Arabic? If so, what dialect(s). Do you know Modern Standard Arabic (FuSHa?) Can you read, write or speak FuSHa? Your answers will help us better offer suitable language workshops for the club.

Have you visited the Middle East, &, if so, where & in what capacity? For that matter, where have you traveled outside the US? Do you speak any other languages besides English & Arabic? No, this info won't be shared with the FBI !

I have yet to visit the Middle East.....as far as travel outside of America, I have touched almost every island in the Carribean and hit every continent except Asia, Australia, and Antartica!

How did you find this group and, now that you're here, what do you want from it? For example, do you prefer Middle Eastern Music events, Dinner Parties, Language Workshops, Live Theatre, or just getting together to meet new people and have fun?

I found this group by googling as well as through some fellow dancers. I would love to meet people in the Middle Eastern Dance world, participate in dinner parties and language workshops/everything you listed!

Do you have any experience working with Non-Profits? I ask because I'm considering establishing the club as a Non-Profit in the near future.

I worked with a non-profit arts facility for nearly ten years. I worked with them administrativly as well as volunteering; it was a wonderful experience.

What is your current job/profession/field? What is your dream job?

I have several current jobs, mostly I freelance as an artist and am preparing to go back into college. I am an artist by nature and talent and my dream job/life includes dancing all over the world!

Additional Information

"One of my main goals right now is train in belly dance with a Dance Master/Mentor. I hope my participation in this group can lead me to find someone (s) who is well versed, diversified, cultured and who loves the art of belly dance, and that I can train with them in the near future."
