Introduction
Ahlan. I have been studying Arabic now for around 2 years, 1 year in Sana'a, Yemen where I worked as a Program Officer at a language ceenter. I love Arabic and would like to continue practicing and speaking with others interested in the language.
Do you speak Arabic? If so, what dialect(s). Do you know Modern Standard Arabic (FuSHa?) Can you read, write or speak FuSHa? Your answers will help us better offer suitable language workshops for the club.
I speak MSA and also some Sana'ani dialect. Not much though.
Have you visited the Middle East, &, if so, where & in what capacity? For that matter, where have you traveled outside the US? Do you speak any other languages besides English & Arabic? No, this info won't be shared with the FBI !
I worked in Yemen for around 1 year and mainly spoke Arabic there. I also speak French, Italian, Spanish and Mandinka.
How did you find this group and, now that you're here, what do you want from it? For example, do you prefer Middle Eastern Music events, Dinner Parties, Language Workshops, Live Theatre, or just getting together to meet new people and have fun?

Do you have any experience working with Non-Profits? I ask because I'm considering establishing the club as a Non-Profit in the near future.
I work at a non-profit called the International Rescue Committee where I am an Arabic/English Immigration Caseworker for Iraqi refugees. I would be interested.
What is your current job/profession/field? What is your dream job?
Working for my same organization in Iraq. Not sure in what capacity.
