OPENING RECEPTION of 'Feminizing Colors' - Modern Interpretations of Women's Role in Society, by the Saudi Artist Muneera al'Kaltham!

Muneera al'Kaltham's Official Website!

My name is Muneera Alkaltham and I am from Khobar City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. My name Muneera means "ray of light", and I can see the real light through my art and my beliefs.

I've always believed that women should play a greater role in society. Being from a culture where traditionally women have not always been given equal treatment, my views have challenged the everyday norm. I've become a leader in a movement of modern women and I reflect this through my artwork. Feminizing colors explores the relationship between my vision of women and the colors I use to represent their individuality.

Since I was a little girl, I always believed I was special and quite different from the other girls in my society. I created my own world and rules in life. I used to always find myself holding a pencil and drawing a woman's shape in all positions. I believed that women were more than just a half of society; I believed women were the air that we breathe, the earth that we walk on, and the light we see.

I would notice the shape of their bodies and even notice the nerves under their tender skin. In my eyes, women were complete and perfect beauty. From that point on, I was inspired to express my vision through art and to turn these beliefs of mine into paintings.

Mrs. Alkaltham says, "I always believed that a woman represents more than half of society. She is the mother, the beloved wife, compassionate and ever loving, and I believe that she represents beauty and serenity as well as courage and strength." These beliefs are reproduced in each of her 32 works of art which vary from dark, somber shades to vibrant tones alive with emotions that echo the personality and uniqueness of each of her subjects.

" My goal is to show the world the real beauty and strength of womankind and express how they deserve equal treatment in every nation. Through my paintings, I aim to make a change in the way some nations perceive women and their roles in society ", Says Mrs. Alkaltham. She has achieved this through her stunning works of art and is proud to share this accomplishment with the world. " I hope that this hidden talent of mine will lift me up and show the entire world how to express one’s beliefs through art. "

My work has previously been exhibited by the Saudi Aramco Art Group and I have been commissioned by private clients in Saudi Arabia

Sincerely
